So I was driving this morning, with my window down, jamming out to Rhianna... Then I noticed a weird scraping noise from the front left wheel of my car. I thought it was just a plastic bag caught on my tire so i rolled my window up and drove on. Then I noticed the sound was still there... So I turned into an abandoned gas station and parked there. Came out of my car to discover that my front left tire was FLAT!!!
I went to the trunk of my car to look for a spare tire but I couldn't find any.. So I called my good friend Jonathan Jordan to come help me. It was good timing cos' he was about to leave his house on his bicycle.. He drove over and took me to church. Along the way we were coming up with ideas of dealing with the problem of not having a spare tire. Got to church, told a couple people about my problem. Everyone at church were really helpful. All of them said that I should take my tire out and take it to discount tires to fix it for and take it back. My other friend, Ben Nye offered to do everything he can to help me deal with this problem, and I gladly took his offer.
During church, I saw Julian Arriaga who helped me choose my car when my dad and I were car shopping. He says that he is pretty sure that I have a spare tire. My heart leapt for joy. There is a slight chance I don't have to pay for a new tire! After church, Ben and I drove towards my car, and lo and behold, there was a tire, hanging on the back door of my car. I was relieved and somewhat ashamed, how could I have not noticed that my tire wasn't there?!? Well I do suffer from small eye syndrome... But Jonathan did not! Maybe my small eye syndrome was infectious!
You would think this would be an easy switch of a tire... But it is not... First, I could not get the jack out of my car, so we used Ben's jack. Then, we went to get more air in my new tire, which proved to be as troublesome as he rest of my story is going to be. Quickstop's machine was not working, and Chevron's did not have a gauge. So we had to pump gas in by instinct.
We drove back to my sorry car and initiated the tire switching process... I had to get something out of my trunk so I opened the door... Then I heard a few yells from Ben and the next thing I knew the car sunked backwards and the gauge slipped off the car. We tried jacking it up again and decided that it wasn't working. So we tried to get my jack out of my car again... And it WORKED!!!
We jacked it up for the 3rd time... And it fell again... Jacked it up the 4th time and found out the jack was starting to bend. Ben told me we had 2 options: continue taking the tire out and facing the risk of my car falling without the tire to support it; or get another jack. I decided to call Cass to borrow a jack from him.
Cass sacrificed watching his Sunday afternoon football to come help me. His jack wasn't high enough for my car. So we decided to take my bent jack out and hope it did not have any lasting damage on it and try to elevate it again. This time... It WORKED!!!
Taking a closer look at my new tire, we decided that it needed to be filled up some more.
So that was more or less the story of my first encounter with a flat tire... It was an interesting experience and I could not have survived without the help of my friends... I thank God for placing them in my life and teaching me how to change a flat tire the hard way... Haha... God is good!

Sleepless Mornings
Lately my room has been getting so cold that I wake up at 6 in the morning... I really hate this... My life has been pretty stressful lately... School, rehearsals, work, internship searching, just life in general... I have many loose ends that I need to tie up...
Such is life...

Mid Autumn Festival...
So it's Sunday morning and I just realized Mid Autumn Festival was last night... What did I do? I had Waffle House for dinner, watched Football, played video games, studied and slept. I knew the day was coming, but I guess I blocked out that event in my brain so that it wouldn't trigger any heart wrenching emotions...
I feel a hard tug in my heart whenever I see friends and family from home post new pictures on their Facebook accounts... I have missed many a reunion because I am in school here in America. I have missed many a family gathering because I am in school here in America. It is hard to celebrate Chinese New Year here when the people who truly celebrate the festival with you is all the way back home.
The same goes for Mid Autumn Festival... I remember my first lantern was a rabbit, and my brother's was a chicken. We had fun running around our big yard with our lanterns, being jealous of our cousins' big Ninja Turtle lanterns. I love the mooncakes that we eat, especially the double yolked ones... I would usually pick out the yolk and save them for last because that was the best part...
So to those of you who celebrated Mid Autumn Festival... I hope you had a good time...
To all of you who did not get to, I hope you had a good time anyways...

As promised...
I'm am updating my blog... Why do I procrastinate everything that I am supposed to do... I am late with my internship applications... I am behind in my piano work, and work work... Too much stuff in life distracts me... I need more self discipline... Thanks to people (when i say people, the only person so far is Jonathan) who hangs out with me at Jupiter House (a coffee house). I am more effective at doing homework when I am out of my house, away from distractions...
Need to get stuff done... ARGH

To WoW or not to WoW
So my roommate was telling his brother how sorry he felt cos' I did not get to run a certain dungeon with them on WoW because apparently lot's of stuff i would have found useful dropped...
I like how what my WoW character equips on himself defines me as a person...
Just a thought...

New and Improved!
I set up my last blog when I was 12... OMG! TWELVE! I don't think I have ever seen myself go this far with life! The 12 year old Ming Yuan would have never EVER dreamed of studying music therapy in America, which is the most exciting thing that has gone on in my life!
Why did I not just update my old blog? Why did I have to waste cyberspace and make a new blog?
1. I decided to move on from my old blog... Too much clutter... And don't see any substance in it...
2. This is a free service, why not make full use of it?
3. Easier to separate my post 20 year old thoughts from my pre 20 year old thoughts...
So here you go... NEW BLOG
